The program is for players involved in sporting clubs and focusses on education and support in relation to their daily challenges.
Cobram’s program ambassador Sasha Parish hoped the day would become an annual event.
She implored other sporting clubs to get involved in the free program, which aimed to education and support players about mental health-related issues.
‘‘Cobram, as a club, would like to make this an annual event and I encourage any sporting club, big or small, to contact OTLR to implement the program into their club,’’ she said.
‘‘Both clubs really got involved and throughout the day there was some special moments.’’
Cobram football coach Josh Noonan said it was a great day, which promoted a powerful cause.
‘‘It’s a day which helps promote awareness of mental illness in the community,’’ he said.
‘‘It is something which affects one spot of the community, it is everywhere.
‘‘It is an initiative which I hope makes people aware that help is out there even though the hardest part can be taking the first step.’’
