Murray league

Barooga was just six goals shy of a win in its A-grade Murray Netball League clash against Nathalia, going down 44-38, while Cobram found it tough going against top-of-the-table Moama.

It was success for the Hawks’ B- and C-grade teams which both posted wins against Nathalia, 56-37 and 59-30 respectively.

Cobram’s B-grade also took a win by six goals over Moama, 45-39, but C-grade went down by 13 and C-reserve by only two goals in a very close match.

Picola league

In the Picola District north-west division, it was a clean sweep for Strathmerton as it posted an emphatic 20-goal win against Jerilderie using some great defensive pressure.

With some great feeding from the team’s attackers, the Bulldogs kept playing a strong game.

B-grade also posted a great win, 64-39, with the team showing versatility and rallying with a few players out and C-grade also took home a win by five goals.

Facing Blighty on Saturday, Yarroweyah fought hard to go down by three goals in both the B- and C-grade matches, while C-reserve lost by 10 goals to the top-of-the-ladder Blighty side.

●In the south-east division, Katamatite found itself facing strong opposition from Katandra in the A-grade clash, going down 50-39.

The B-grade team took home the chocolates with a 43-30 win, while C-grade and C-reserve also posted losses.
