Picola league

Strathmerton’s A-grade netballers consolidated their spot on the ladder with a strong win over Mathoura in Picola District’s north-west competition on Saturday.

The team played four consistent quarters with back-up from all teammates to take the chocolates, 75-40.

C-grade also posted an 11-goal win, while B-grade lost a very defensive game and C-reserve missed out on a close game, going down by just three goals.

Yarroweyah found the day tough against strong Jerilderie sides, with B-grade going down 51-40 and C-grade missing out on a tight three-goal margin, losing 36-33.

●In the south-east division, Katunga was too strong for Katamatite, taking the win by 30 goals.

B- and C-grade and C-reserve also found themselves against very strong Katunga sides and posted losses on the day.

Murray league

Cobram fought hard to stay in the match against Echuca United, but the scoreline got away and the Tigers went down 54-33.

B- and C-grade and C-reserve also found the going tough against strong Echuca sides, but will be looking to bounce back against Deniliquin this week.

Barooga also struggled against Moama, with all four senior sides going down against the Magpies, but will be hoping to secure wins against Congupna next week.
