Mixed results for Cobram

March 02, 2017

Cobram tennis teams came up against some strong opposition on the weekend.

Cobram Cougars have taken the points in their match-up against Shepparton Sharks on Saturday with a comprehensive 11 sets and 95 games to 3-53 win.

The day started off strongly with both Mario Bruni and Jack Cassidy winning their singles sets comfortably.

Despite Cobram losing both women’s singles, Cobram got on a roll in the doubles by winning nine of a possible 10 sets.

The win has the Cougars moving into sixth place on the ladder with their final match coming up this week when they travel to take on the Numurkah Penguins.

●The news wasn’t as good for the Cobram GM 2 team as they were well beaten by a strong Shepparton Lawn Giants side.

The Giants were too good all day with the final score 11 sets and 80 games to 0-24.

The GM 2 side has now finished its season, as it has the bye in the final round.

A better season is on the horizon for next year.
