With Tuesdays game again cancelled due to Mother nature’s icy wet breath, it was all hands-on deck for those brave enough to face Thursdays Stableford round in the cold but dry conditions.
On the BLUE it was Bill Bindloss who shot a spectacular round of 1 birdie, 2 pars, 3 bogeys and 2 wipes to score 21 points to take the honours leaving a 3-way countback led by John Mason, Max Jones and Dave Hall all on 20 points.
Closely following behind on 19 was Peter Dowie and Graham Brookes with club legend Doug Ringholt (18) leading a 4-way countback from Evan James, Dave Murray, Digger Dunne and Col Rosser.
On the RED there was only 8 holes in action and it was Corny Boers (17 points) who continued his recent good spell of form winning a 4 way countback thanks to a birdie on the 7th to win from Ray Minette, Geoff Burgess and Ted Latta, with Peter Taylor (15) leading another 5 way countback from Dom Fotia, Ron Hocking, Graeme Milner and John Taylor, with ball prizes going down to
14 won by Denis Beale and Bomber Mitchell.
