Strathmerton, who continues to make its way up the table, downed Picola United in emphatic fashion at home on Saturday afternoon.
A 10-goal haul to Marcus Mcmillan was pivotal to the big result, with the Bulldogs running out 18.7 (115) to 5.5 (35) winners.
Things were less exciting for a depleted Katamatite team, with the side falling to Waaia 2.3 (15) to 18.15 (123).
It was quite a different looking Katamatite side on the field, with a number of players missing.
With no Nichol Clurey, Luke Riordan, Sam Wright, Jedd Wright or Ben Bray among other outs for the club, it was a tricky day for the Tigers and one that sees them drop to fifth place on the ladder.
In the other senior football game, Tungamah was simply to good for Tocumwal, taking out a 22.21 (153) to 6.1 (37) win.
Meanwhile in the reserves competition, a gallant Yarroweyah fell to the Deni Rovers.
The Hoppers produced a dominant second quarter against Deni to be within 13 points of the opposition at half-time, however Deni proved to be the better side on the day.
In the A-grade netball competition results were eerily similar to football, Strathmerton picked up an impressive 51 to 38 win over Picola United, while a strong Waaia side was simply too good for Katamatite.
Tungamah outscored Tocumwal by 19 goals, while in the B-grade Yarroweyah went down to Deni by 17 goals.
