Members and guests were excited to get together after the cancellation of the two previous year's dinners due to covid restrictions.
Special guest was Robert Walls. Robert is a highly credentialled football identity. Highlights of his football career include:
• AFL Hall of Fame 2006
• 259 VFL games - Carlton and Fitzroy
• 3 x VFL premierships
• Carlton Team of the Century
• Coached Carlton to 1987 AFL premiership
• Also coached Fitzroy, Brisbane Bears and Richmond.
Robert was interviewed by senior coach Peter German throughout the evening. The audience were entertained by Robert's extensive experiences and knowledge of football spanning more than 50 years. Peter's PowerPoint showing highlights of Robert's playing and coaching career further captivated those in attendance.
Attendees enjoyed a fantastic 3-course meal prepared by Lisa Melksham and her two capable assistants in the kitchen.
The layout of the tables looked great - thanks to Georgie Bruce, the Longmire girls and Kylie Greig.
Table and bar service was professionally handled by Kylie Greig, Bec and Remy Longmire.
Thanks must also go to Peter German, Graham Hosier and Rowena Black who played a big part in the planning and preparation of the night.
