Breakers juniors have day out at Country Champs

The Benalla Breakers’ under-12 Girls recently travelled to Ballarat to compete in the Victorian Junior Country Championships along with 36 other teams from across the state.

The girls played an epic nine games over three days.

Day 1 was a tough day of grading games which placed them in Division 5 for the Championships.

Breakers finished day 2 with three wins and a loss, which placed them second on the ladder and put them into the semi-final on day 3.

After two huge days of play, the girls did not quite have enough in the tank to secure a spot in the grand final, going down to Yarrawonga/Mulwala 16-30.

The team’s outstanding performance at the championships was the culmination of a fantastic season of development thanks to coach Sheree Jackson and team manager Erin Crook.

Well done Benalla Breakers Under-12 Girls.

The Autumn Competition Grand Finals for Under-12 was on Thursday April 7.

Boys: Bulls played Mavericks. Bulls won.

Girls: Fire played Capitals. Fire won.

The association is running the Aussie Hoops program on Wednesday afternoons 4pm to 4.45pm.

It’s an eight-week program that began on May 4.
