The Tigers backed up their confident declaration on day one of the round 14 clash against Katamatite with a strong bowling effort on Saturday, dismissing their opponent 16 runs short of its victory target.
The Boosey Creek Tigers showed plenty of fight with bat in hand as Ash Saunders (44), Sam Dorsey (33), Tom Casha (33) and Tom Irvine (24) all dug in at the crease, but consistent wickets allowed Cobram to remain in front in the clash.
Adam De Cicco finished with 3-43 as Lachie Hyde (2-25) and Tyron Baden (2-37) also impressed, while Jon Frankel sent down five overs for figures of 1-9.
Eventually Katamatite was all-out for 187 in the 61st over, securing Cobram the minor premiership.
● Deniliquin avoided facing the ladder-leader in a semi-final with a win against Barooga on the weekend, but the Hawks will also take plenty of confidence out of the clash.
The Rhinos made 166 in reply to Barooga's 123 to take first innings points, with Mandus Venter (41 from 91 deliveries) the hero.
Coming to the crease at 7-89, Venter put on a crucial partnership with Brad Todd (20) and guided the tail home after the skipper's departure.
The Hawks had impressive bowling efforts from Matt Jaensch (4-38) and Justin Maley (3-23) though and gave Kale Watkins (63 not out from 106) and Jamie Stanyer (30) batting practice in racking up 4-124 from 20 overs before stumps were called.
● Nathalia and Cobram-Yarroweyah United batted to their hearts content on Saturday, both outfits spending plenty of time at the crease in the final round.
The Purples put on 276 in reply to the combine's day one score of 70 as Archie Congues (74 from 106) led the way before United batted out 55 overs to hit 6-160.
Ayden Latessa (67 from 107) and Jack Andrew (61 from 161) combined for a 98-run stand during the innings after Andrew (3-65) had earlier impressed with ball in hand.
Phil Carroll (3-9 from six overs) and Luke Quinn (2-9) did the damage with the ball for the Purples.
