Played across three of Melbourne's leading courses, the region's top men and women played at Huntingdale, Cranbourne and Victoria golf clubs.
Although unable to equal the heights of last season in the men's division one, Goulburn Murray capped off a strong three days of competition with a second placing.
The men's side came runner-up to first-time winners Murray Darling, after it fell to the eventual winners on the final day of the event three matches to four.
A 4-3 loss on the opening day to South Western District was not the best start for the men's side, but it was a great turnaround to get into a title winning spot on day three.
And the women's side capped off a superb event, ending third on the ladder, after suffering one loss from four games and finishing with two ties.
It was a similar tale to the men for the women's outfit, losing the only game on the first day of action to eventual winners Golf Peninsula.
However, remaining in the top flight for next year was not the only success for Goulburn Murray to come out of the event.
Cobram-Barooga's Steffi Vogel and Tocumwal's Caleb Bovalina were selected in the Victorian Country side to play South Australia next month at Nhill Golf Club.
Interestingly, out of all the players in division one men, only four players went through with four wins, with two of them coming from Goulburn Murray.
Numurkah's Matt Sellars and Shepparton's Daniel Adem were the two golfers to end the competition with a 100 per cent strike rate from their matches.
