Community groups, schools and businesses across Mitchell Shire are stepping up to clean up on Clean Up Australia Day, and residents are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and get involved as well.
Several sites have been registered across the municipality to join in the clean up on March 1 in Broadford, Kilmore, Seymour, Wallan and Upper Plenty.
The day gives residents the chance to showcase their community pride by coming together to improve the appearance of local public spaces while supporting the environment at the same time.

All volunteers are advised to bring a hat, gloves, sunscreen, drinking water and to wear closed toe shoes.
Mitchell Shire mayor David Lowe said it was unfortunate litter and dumped rubbish pollutes local streets, parks, bushland and waterways.
“We are encouraging all of our residents to join in on March 1 to collect as much waste as possible before it causes harm to our beautiful public spaces,” he said.
“Clean Up Australia Day is fun, easy and anyone can take part. I commend the local groups that are organising a clean-up for their area and thank everyone who will take part on this Sunday.”
