Changes to VicRoads services

All VicRoads’ light vehicle driving tests, computer-based tests and medical review driving assessments have been suspended to limit the spread of coronavirus as of March 25.

However, heavy vehicle assessments will continue in order to "keep the industry moving at this challenging time", as well as motorcycle assessments.

Department of Transport's transport services head Jeroen Weimar said the temporary changes were an important way to keep all VicRoads customers and staff safe.

“I understand this will be frustrating for those impacted, I thank everyone for their patience during this unprecedented time,” he said.

The VicRoads suspensions will be reviewed monthly and everyone impacted by the changes will be contacted directly.

Counter service at VicRoads’ Customer Services Centres has been reduced by 50 per cent and will be adhering to the rule of one person per four square metres, to maintain social distancing requirements.

Mr Weimar urged those with registration or licensing needs to visit the VicRoads website rather than the customer service centre.
