Regulation changes will also allow voters impacted by certain other emergency situations to vote over the phone.
Government Services Minister Danny Pearson said Victorian voters would also have the option of voting in person, on or before election day, or through postal vote.
Victorians who are already eligible for electronic assisted voting, including voters who are blind or have low vision or who have a motor impairment, will continue to have access to the service.
The Electoral Regulations 2022 also make other changes to improve Victoria’s electoral system.
These include simplification of forms prescribed in the regulations, which have been updated with information in plain English and unnecessary elements deleted.
The new regulations will commence on August 20, replacing the Electoral Regulations 2012.
The Victorian Electoral Commission will provide further information about how people who are isolating can vote by phone after the regulations come into effect at https://www.vec.vic.gov.au/
