The group is hoping face-to-face fundraising this year, after two years of COVID-induced difficulties, will help increase donations to provide support and services to the community’s vulnerable people.
Group president and Legatee Ian Summers explained they provide wide-ranging supports to veterans and their loved ones.
“Cobram Yarrawonga Legacy Group looks after in excess of 100 veterans’ families, providing services like home-care visits, day trips, education support, holiday camps for Legacy Youth, support networks, monitoring the welfare and wellbeing of our elderly war widows and pensioners,” he said.
Nationally, Legacy cares for 43,000 beneficiaries including 1300 children and 1100 people with a disability.
Legacy merchandise, including badges, pens, and Legacy bears will be available from volunteer sellers during Legacy Week.

The group will also be commemorating it’s centenary with the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay, marking 100 years of service to those who have sacrificed.
