Bedecked in green for St Patrick’s Day, about 44 attendees enjoyed a variety of card games in groups, with the $20 entry going to the hospital to purchase needed equipment.
Auxiliary president Mary Powell said they would go off a “wishlist” provided by the hospital and purchase equipment they felt would provide better patient comfort.
She also said the event provided an excellent social opportunity for everyone.
“To be honest with you, when I go home at night, I’m exhausted mentally and physically. But I sit down and I think they’ve had real laughter and chatter,” Ms Powell said.
“It makes you feel good because you are giving them a day that they value,” she said.
