CFA brigades from Strathmerton to Wodonga will compete in six events which re-enact common truck, hose and field operations.
Now in its 50th year, the event is expected to be a great opportunity for brigades to compete against each other and exchange time-saving firefighting techniques.
The following weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27, the CFA State Rural and Urban Championships will be held with junior teams competing on Saturday and senior teams on Sunday.
Both rural and urban brigades from all over Victoria will compete in common truck, hose and field events, as well as a number of static CFA displays being put on.
About 1400 people are expected to take part in the state event.
Beginning at 8.30pm on March 26, a stunning uniformed torchlight parade will take place on Sobraon St in Shepparton, proceeding down Wyndham St to the Shepparton Arts Museum.
The Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria president, CFA chief officer and a colour party will lead the parade, followed by brigades with a tanker in front of each uniformed group, which will carry torches on poles to light the parade.
