Ms Ryan said in the six years she had lived next to the intersection of Benalla-Tocumwal Rd and Katamatite-Yarrawonga Rd, there had been about seven cases of drivers going through the intersection and into her fence.
Not only do cars narrowly avoid oncoming traffic, but also come close to hitting the shed on her property.
Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell said she had been notified by Road Safety and TAC Minister Jaala Pulford that rumble strips would be installed on the road.
Ms Ryan was pleased attempts would be made to improve the safety of the intersection but was concerned that incidents might still happen.
“I don't know how people miss the intersection,” she said.
“When we talk to the people who have come through the fence they've told me they simply didn't see the intersection.
“The people who have come through aren't Katamatite locals but have come from Cobram, Yarrawonga or Shepparton.”
The intersection has previously experienced a fatality but not in the time Ms Ryan has lived at the property.
“It's amazing these cars come through and aren't hit by a truck, because you have to remember the traffic is travelling at 100 km/h,” she said.
In all but one incident Ms Ryan has been able to claim the cost of the damages on insurance; however that one incident left her more than $6000 out of pocket.
Ms Ryan has attempted to make the intersection more visible by painting the fence posts yellow and installing flashing lights.
She said in one crash the driver and passenger attempted to escape the scene before her husband was able to intervene.
That same crash also frightened the family's horse and caused it to bolt from the paddock.
Ms Ryan has decided not to use the part of her land that was most vulnerable, in the event of further crashes.
Ms Ryan first contacted Ms Lovell in 2017 asking for a safer intersection and had also spoken with VicRoads in the past 12 months.
Ms Lovell was pleased the government had finally responded to the requests to make the intersection safer.
