Barooga will host its inaugural Christmas community market this Saturday.
Located at Vintage Wood‘n’That, at 12-23 Vermont St, Barooga, there will be plenty of room to explore the market from 9am to 1pm.
‘‘We had two markets earlier in the year which we try and theme around the seasons, but this is the first we’ve had with a Christmas theme,’’ event co-organiser Sandi Hamilton said.
‘‘There will be a massive variety of entertainment for all ages as well as a chance to pick up any Christmas presents for mum, dad or the whole family.’’
A plethora of locally made goods will be offered, including garden art, homemade baked delicacies, pottery, knitted wares and fabric toys.
Barooga Public School will also be there with produce from its Kitchen Garden.
Children can stop off at the arts and crafts table, have their face painted, bounce around on the jumping castle and enjoy snow cones and fairy floss.
Santa is expected to make his appearance about 11am.
Mrs Hamilton said as well as providing an activity for locals and tourists alike, the market will benefit the community.
‘‘We love getting the community together and inviting people from everywhere to enjoy the fun,’’ she said.
‘‘I think the public school’s Kitchen Garden is going to be a big hit.
‘‘We have decided that money raised in the IGA Christmas hamper raffle will go towards the public school.’’
