A property on Strathmerton’s Crawford Rd was broken into overnight on September 30, with offenders entering a workshop and stealing various power tools to the value of $1400 — the second time in a month the address had been targeted by burglars.
Another burglary took place only days later in Cobram when an offender walked away with a large amount of cash after forcing entry in to a Bank St business overnight on October 3.
A break-and-enter occurred the next day on October 4 at around 4am at a Mookarii St business. A male wearing a grey hoodie and trackpants forced entry to the building and searched the store, before appearing to leave empty-handed.
In Tungamah, offenders stole 15 truck batteries with a value of $150 from a rural property on Chinaman Lane during the early hours of October 2. They were believed to be driving a V8 utility, which was last seen travelling east.
Elsewhere, on October 1 thieves targeted a Melville St op shop overnight, removing a mesh gate to gain access to a storage area and taking a number of items. Offenders also attempted to gain entry to the rear of the store without success, but all of the stolen items were located nearby.
Overnight on October 3, a set of number plates with the registration 1PQ5ZN were stolen from a Volkswagon utility vehicle being advertised for sale on the Goulburn Valley Hwy near the intersection of Centre Rd.
A 30-year-old Numurkah male was intercepted and found to be in possession of a drug of dependence at 3pm on October 3. The man was charged with drug offences and other road traffic offences, including driving a motor vehicle with false plates.
