Scarlett Grinter was the winner of the event, finishing ahead of Maddison Wilson and Emily Power.
The competition involved three stages - the submission of a resume, before an interview with two judges and a two-minute speech answering the question of ‘Is volunteering in your local community important?’
Entrants were also judged on a number of criteria, including community involvement and communication skills.
Judge Hayden Williamson said all three contestants presented really well, however, Scarlett stood out across the three stages.
“They were all outstanding,” Mr Williamson said.
“They all know the topic well and demonstrated how they were actively involved in the community.
“Scarlett came across as a little bit more confident, she knew her topic really well and came back with an answer for every question we threw at her.
“She is very involved in the community through the Cobram Show, as well as Scouts, and she also works on her parents' farm.”
Mr Williamson believed the experience gained from this sort of competition was invaluable.
“It gives the (entrants) experience in public speaking as well as representing their show,” he said.
“They can also go further and represent in senior rural ambassador competition in the future.
“It also helps develop their confidence and how they should present themselves.”
Scarlett progresses to the regional level, which will be held in Shepparton early next year.
