Six officers were called to a residence which was found to be hosting 30 to 40 people on McCormick Rd, Kyabram on Saturday.
Each person present over the age of 18 was issued a fine of $1652.
A Kyabram Police spokesperson said the people involved were celebrating a birthday.
“It’s disappointing from our perspective considering regional Victoria is doing well given the current climate with the coronavirus, and then to have a blatant breach of the restrictions can just show how something so simple can possibly endanger other members of the community,” the spokesperson said.
“It’s not worth having that quick social gathering at your house. These restrictions are there for a reason, and police will continue to enforce them.
“If anybody does have any questions in relations to coronavirus they can call the Department of Health and Human Services hotline because police aren’t able to give out specific advice in relation to coronavirus.”
The current restrictions state you can have no more than five visitors at your address.
Anyone wishing to report a suspected breach of the COVID-19 restrictions can call 131 444.
