Activities will be held at national parks in Echuca, Gunbower and Terrick Terrick as part of the Junior Rangers program.
The program allows children aged 6 to 12 and their families to have fun learning in nature, get outdoors and better understand Victoria’s plants and wildlife as well as natural and cultural heritage.
Parks Victoria education and interpretation officer James Adams said the variety of activities would engage children and families in exploring the natural world around them.
All activities are free but bookings are essential and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
A Wildlife Detective activity will be held at Echuca’s River Murray Reserve on September 24 from 10am to 11.30am.
Tune your senses to discover who is hiding out of sight and use clues find out who was in the park while no-one is looking.
Meet at Wills 1 Campground, off O’Dwyer Rd.
The same activity will be held at Gunbower National Park on October 1 from 10am to 11.30am. Meet at Torrumbarry Weir.
On October 2, join a Parks Victoria ranger and gain an understanding of Northern Plains Grasslands at Terrick Terrick National Park from 10am to 11.30am.

Parks Victoria has also organised a Spring Bioblitz on October 3-4 which is a fun community-driven, self-guided online nature survey.
Grab a camera or smartphone and head into one of the parks to record the plants and animals you encounter.
