Congratulations to Anthony Hulm who is winner of the Mathoura Bowling Club’s Men’s Club Singles Championship 25-up for the current season.
Anthony won in a close game from David Hicks who is also congratulated for making the final.
Following the championship match, Anthony represented the club in the Champion of Champions competition in Moama.
He won the first round but unfortunately success evaded him in round two.
Beryl Murray also represented the club in the two-day contest and while making it to the final against Moama’s Melissa Roberts and playing well, she was unsuccessful.
The club’s members are proud of both players’ efforts and the way they represented Mathoura.

While Mathoura, thankfully, is a long way from the raging fires which have been devastating the country we are still seeing some of the effects through the smoke haze which has clouded our skies.
Residents should be alert to the damaging effect smoke can have on those with breathing problems and are encouraged to keep a watchful eye on family members and neighbours who may be affected.
