This weekend we congratulate Xavier Leslie on 300 games. Xavier’s career with the Pigeons has been a driving force behind the club’s greatest ever period, including a finals run from 2006 to 2018 which included seven Grand Final appearances and three premierships.
However, it is not only his courageous play and consistent high-level performance, even more important are Xavier’s off-field qualities: hard-working, durable, honest and ever-reliable.
The Pigeons wish their superstar all the best for Easter Sunday, we could not be prouder nor luckier to have had such a fine man and family as part of the fabric of our club.
Also, this weekend on court Bridget Cassar (Tait) and Anna Grinter (Bourke) chalk up important milestones: 300 club games and 200 A Grade Games respectively.
It is fitting these two players reach these milestones on the same day, whilst their careers are at opposite ends of the court they do mirror each other.
There is no doubt having to match up on each other a couple of times a week in match simulation has only made both players better.
Further, both are great contributors around the club filling numerous roles including key coaching roles. Well done Bridget and Anna!
