Tungamah 60 defeated Deni Rovers 15.
After a rough start to the first quarter the girls found their feet and settled into the game. The girls transitioned well from attack to defence.
The talk on the court has improved. They adapted well to changes. Lots to work on going forward. Congratulations to Shylee Brown in making her A grade debut at the age 14. Shylee is one of Tungamah key players in the under 15s. She has been playing at Tungamah for several years she has represented the PDFNL at Interleague.

B Grade
Tungamah 22 defeated by Deni Rovers 49.
It was a strong opening quarter by both teams with there only being one goal in it at quarter time. The Bears put up a good fight throughout the entirety of the game with many intercepts, turnovers and the attacking end fighting hard to get the ball to the shooters.
However, Deni overcame the Bears by half time with their amazing defensive pressure which led Tungamah to fall behind by the end quarter.
Overall, it was a very intense game and the Bears girls didn’t give up once.
Awards: Coaches award - Leisa Hodgson (Yarrawonga Pilates), Players player (Mug) - Tiffany Thomas, Oppositions pick (Belle Pelle) - Ella Costigan.
C Grade
Tungamah 20 defeated by Deni Rovers 27.
A very slow, low scoring game. Great defensive pressure and turnovers all day, just had trouble moving the ball in the attack end and converting.
Awards: Brodie Gissing - Intersport, Ally Cooper - Free as Bird and Opposition Pick.
C Reserve
Tungamah 26 defeated by Deni Rovers 32.
Tungamah were tied with Deni each quarter except the third. They came out with a quick 5 goals before the Bears could score. But the last half of the third quarter Tungamah were able to regroup and stay with them.
The coaches are proud of the efforts to not drop their heads. The Bears were able to reset mid quarter and play it out, that is not easily done so pats on the back for everyone.
It was the forced errors that let Tungamah down, it is the 1 percenter that they need to tidy up to get the win.
Awards: Cellarbrations – Kait Megarrity (Player’s Player), Miss Dolly – Jade Ralph, Club Mulwala – Danielle Sidebottom.
Under 17s
Tungamah 14 defeated by Deni Rovers 54.
The girls came out all guns blazing for a tough fight again Deni. From the first whistle right through until the very end, no one ever dropped their heads.
The coaches asked the girls for a lot of talk this week and they did just that. The encouragement on and off the court was great to hear. Although Deni had the height, the Bears girls had speed, grit, and determination.
Deni’s attacking end was strong, but the Tungamah defenders did not make it easy for them, getting their hands to many balls.
The midcourters pushed hard all day, ensuring they were coming forward and always being an option for that next pass.
The shooters did amazing against some quite tall opponents. They held their own, working hard in the goal ring to get in front of their players and put up their goals.
Overall, watching the game it felt like a tough fight from both sides. Despite the score, the girls gave their opposition a tough run and ensured they didn’t get any goals easily.

Under 13s
Tungamah 13 defeated by Deni Rovers 23.
Tungamah welcomed ladder leaders Deni to the Bear pit and what a game was played. It was fast paced and tightly contested all over the court but unfortunately, the Bears didn’t come away with the points. The Bears welcomed Emily back from injury and she proved herself as a strong defence along with Lilli; Elli showed that she can jump her own height in order to get rebounds; Abbi chased down all the loose balls in the centre; Chloe created space in attack and kept moving to be in front with high shooting accuracy; Charli and Tayla as always were pocket rockets in the centre and always had eyes for that goal post; Brooke was the majority shooter and re-lead well; Claire made her debut and along with Kiera put pressure in the middle court and always had their arms up ready to defend.
The Under 13s wish Lucy a speedy recovery and thank you to Deb for umpiring.
Awards: Crusty Loaf – Charli, Yarrawonga Fish & Chips – Kiera, Tungamah General Store – Chloe.
