The beach front was covered with spectators on both Saturday and Sunday, with beachgoers treated to a stellar lineup of athletes as well as music and entertainment.
Ninety per cent of Volleyball Australia’s top cohort put their skills on display, including a host of players with Commonwealth Games gold medals including Chris McHugh and Damien Schumann.
Rio Olympian Nikki Laird and London Olympian Becchara Palmer were also there to put on a show.
Cobram-Barooga Business and Tourism chair Don Rudd said it was a great event that attracted tourists to town.
‘‘We are really pleased with the support of our major partners, including the Berrigan and Moira shire councils and the Barooga Sporties Group,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s great that we are able to attract high profile, national standard events to our town.
‘‘Events such as this have been specifically targeted to showcase Cobram-Barooga and to bring more visitors here, which as we know will support more stays in hotels, meals at cafes and restaurants, visits to our tourist attractions and spending in our shops.’’
Cobram police members conducted an operation around the tournament.
They said they were very impressed with the running of the event and the behavior of the people attending.
A spokesperson said it was a fantastic opportunity to show off the Cobram area and what the community could offer.
