Atetico Madrid have reached an agreement to sign promising midfielder Marcos Llorente from neighbours Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old will put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Wanda Metropolitano, pending a successful medical, the Rojiblancos said.
Neither club have announced a fee for the Spain Under-21 international, but reports suggest he will cost Atletico about 40 million euros ($A65 million).
Madrid-born Llorente came up through the youth ranks at Real before being handed his first-team debut in 2015.
However, he had limited first-team opportunities at the Bernabeu and departs having made 39 senior appearances, although he enjoyed a successful loan spell at Alaves in 2016-17 when he helped them reach the Copa del Rey final.
A Real statement read: "Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have agreed on the transfer of Marcos Llorente.
"The club want to show their gratitude for all these years of dedication and professionalism and for his exemplary behaviour since joining our youth team in 2008 and his progression to the first team.
"Real Madrid wish him good luck."
