The ultimate golf challenge to walk and play 72 holes will test their skill, strength and stamina.
On Friday, December 15, the good golfing trio of Jake Stevenson, Alex Kealy and Tom Mason will play the Lake, the Murray, the Executive Nine, the front Lake Nine and finish off with the Lake Course 18 holes.
An awesone foursome group comprising second year trainee professional Baxter Droop, third year trainee Dale Crothers, Rob Alexander and Travis Hocking will tee off at dawn on Sunday, December 17.
To be played throughout Australia, the event is known as Cancer Council’s Longest Golf Day.
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70. The seven local golfers want to help change this.
“We will be walking, starting off with two rounds on the Lake, one on the Murray and the Executive twice – that’s 72 holes and about 30kms – and hitting off by 5.30am,” Baxter commented about his group.
The teams of four and three players are asking for fellow golfers and anyone else who would like to help the fight against cancer by sponsoring one or both of the teams.
“Please sponsor our team today, to make every hole count!” is the appeal by the seven players. Thank you for your generous donation. Together, let’s tee off for a cancer-free future.”
