Sporadic rain falls

Cobram had some sporadic bursts of rain last month, but the total rainfall measured at resident Ron Renfrew’s Davey St property showed just 34mm.

Statistics from Weather Zone showed 10mm fell in the town on November 6, while November 21 and 22 respectively saw 8mm fall.

A further 5mm fell on November 23, but besides those four days, there has been precious little rain.

According to Mr Renfrew’s data, which he has been measuring on his property since 2009, Cobram is 157mm below the 416.9mm yearly average rainfall with only one month remaining.

Last year, Mr Renfrew recorded 355mm, while so far this year, 259mm has fallen.

According to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, the average rainfall in Cobram for December is 37.9mm, with the highest ever total recorded since 1958 being 134.4mm.

The bureau showed Cobram had 78.8mm in December last year.

It appears the region is set for another warm December, with the average temperature recorded by the bureau of 30.2°C recorded at Tocumwal airport site.
