Help with business

By Cobram Courier

Opening and running a cafe, small bar or restaurant in Berrigan Shire just got easier.

The shire has partnered with Service NSW and the Office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner to launch Easy to do Business in Berrigan Shire.

Through an online portal, residents will receive step-by-step guidance and support across local, state and federal government requirements, to open and grow a business.

The program is free and provides peace of mind by letting the user know up front the time, fees and effort involved.

Berrigan Shire Mayor Matt Hannan said council was committed to supporting local businesses in the shire.

‘‘We joined the Easy to Do Business program to give current and prospective business owners access to a one-stop shop to make it easier to navigate local planning and state licensing requirements,’’ he said.

‘‘We’ll be promoting the portal and concierge service to those looking for help to start up or expand within our shire.’’

With streamlined forms and one phone number, to remove complexity when opening a cafe, small bar or restaurant, users can spend less time on paperwork and more time on their business.

Those using the service will be supported by a dedicated personal business concierge through the process.

‘‘We encourage anyone interested in opening a cafe, small bar or restaurant to take advantage of this service,’’ Cr Hannan said.
