Grants to improve aged care

Aged care services in the Murray electorate can apply for grants to improve operations, for the benefit of local seniors.

Federal Member for Murray Damian Drum said providers could apply for one-off grants of up to $500000 to for infrastructure extensions.

‘‘Whether it’s improving accessibility, extending a kitchen or carrying out much-needed upgrades, I urge local operators to apply for this grant opportunity,’’ he said.

‘‘Our senior community members need access to the best possible services and facilities in their own community.

‘‘This grant could enable our small town aged care facilities to get much-needed infrastructure improvements.’’

Existing Government-approved residential and home care providers can also apply.

Approved Commonwealth home support program providers, such as Meals On Wheels might also be eligible.

●Applications for the aged care regional, rural and remote infrastructure grants will close on October 24 at 2pm.
