The group held a card and games day on Thursday, March 16 at the Barooga Sports and Bowls Club.
About 50 community members gathered to support the event and enjoy card and board games, lunch, dessert and sponge cake for afternoon tea.
The auxiliary trading table was a treat, filled with donated vegies from the Kelly brothers, homemade jams, preserves and colourful crafts from auxiliary members and volunteers and donated goods including books, bags, bric-a-brac and gifts.
Several raffles were given away on the day with winners taking home framed paintings by local artists, plants, cheese boards, drinks and more.
Proceeds from auxiliary events go to NCN Health Cobram’s health service and Irvin House residential aged care for upgraded equipment that contributes greatly to quality patient care and service delivery.
Auxiliary president Mary Powell said the group of volunteers had raised more than $9000 in 2022 with funds going towards specialised furniture, equipment and interactive ‘companion pups’ for aged care residents.
NCN Health Cobram Director of Clinical Services Carolyn Hargreaves thanked the auxiliary for its ongoing hard work.
“Our auxiliary are a fantastic group of quiet achievers and we sincerely thank them for their support and hard work.”
The auxiliary is always looking for new members, volunteers or donations of prizes for events. For more information contact Sue Hams on 0427 401 929 or Mary Powell on 5871 2222.
