Mayor Adrian Weston said $400,000 had been allocated in the 2018/19 budget for the footpath replacement program, with works prioritised following inspections.
‘‘With available funding spread across many works programs from roads, drainage, to buildings and more, council assesses and then prioritises works following customer service requests and inspections,’’ Cr Weston said.
‘‘Works are then included in the program on a priority basis.
‘‘Improvements have been made to this year’s program to now include smaller sections of footpath, up to three concrete bays, resulting in 20 sections of footpath to be replaced.’’
In Echuca, a total of 227 metres of footpath will be replaced, across three streets, and eight individual sections on Leichardt, Boothman and Landsborough streets.
In Rochester, a total of 62 metres of footpath will be replaced, in two streets and two individual sections:
And in Kyabram, a total of 425 metres of footpath will be replaced, across 10 streets, and 22 individual sections:
Council will shortly call for tenders for the works, to be completed from March through to June 2019. Before works are started in each area adjoining landowners will be notified and disruption kept to a minimum.
