Patrick Westcott’s mullet has been three years in the making.
Local YouTube sensation Patrick Westcott will end his three year journey with his mullet this Saturday.

Patrick - who is one of the stars of ‘Ranga with a Rod’, along with dad Rhys - will be parting with his trademark mop of red hair to support cancer and alopecia charities.
He is partnering with Deniliquin Can Assist for the fundraiser.
And his hair will be salvaged and donated to the Australian Alopecia Areata Foundatoin.
Patrick’s mullet came about almost by accident.
A ‘home’ haircut from Deni Rovers Football Club teammate Tom Blake in the change rooms left him with a complete side shave thanks to faulty clippers.
From there, much to his parents’ horror, the mullet journey began and Patrick’s nickname ‘Mudflap’ was born.
The long, thick, curly, red mullet has attracted many a look, with even strangers coming to say hello and getting close to the mullet and the man.

Much to his dislike, family members have straightened the mullet, to make sure it is the correct length for donation and braiding has also been attempted.
“I’m going to miss it. It will be weird taking it all off,” Patrick said.
“I am so grateful for everyone donating to my cause, and I haven’t minded the randoms that stop and chat.”
At the time of going to print yesterday, Patrick was about $200 off his $5000 fundraising goal.
His fundraising goals have been inspired by family members.
He chose to support Can Assist in honour of his pop Kevin Maher, who has been battling cancer.
And his locks will be made into wigs for children living with alopecia, a condition shared by his sister Kate.
Mum Melissa said she will be glad when the mullet is gone, but is glad it can serve a worthy cause before then.
“Rhys and I are both very proud of Patrick raising the money and donating the hair to two very worthy causes that are both close to our family’s hearts.
“We would like to thank everyone that has donated”.
All funds raised by or donated to Deniliquin Can Assist help support local families with the costs associated with receiving cancer treatment out of town.
The mullet and Patrick make an appearance on the footy field.
