The first sale for 2019 saw almost 4000 head yarded at Deniliquin on Tuesday.
Quality was good in spite of the very hot days we have experienced of late.
Top price for heavy lambs was $196, with most heavy lambs making in a tight range of $180 to $195 per head.
Trade lambs were in short supply and made between $150 and $170 a head.
Most light lambs are feeling the season and were in light condition. Better conditioned types made between $100 and $140 per head, and plainer, smaller lambs for $40 to $80 a head.
Hoggets topped at $140 a head for crossbred, and $95 for Merinos.
A limited supply of sheep was offered, topping at $120 a head and most lots making between $60 to $110 a head.
Old rams made to $98.60 a head.
