MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING FATAL COLLISION AT MUCKATAH

UPDATE: MAJOR Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision at Muckatah yesterday.

It is alleged a white Kenworth prime mover and trailer travelling west on Powerline Road collided with a white Nissan utility travelling along Chapel Road about 1.30pm.

The driver of the Nissan, a 57-year-old Strathmerton man, died at the scene.

A 46-year-old Cobram man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

He has been bailed to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 May.

YESTERDAY: A man has died following a collision at the intersection of Powerline and Chapel Rd, Muckatah, north of Katamatite.

A prime mover was travelling west and collided with a white utility travelling south.

The driver of the white utility died.

The truck driver has been taken into police custody.

Major collisions unit will be on scene investigating for some time.

The roads are both closed at the intersection.
