A fire has destroyed a shed containing memorabilia and expensive machinery in Barooga.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known and the matter is under police investigation.
‘‘It took us about 20 minutes to get it under control,’’ Barooga Rural Fire Brigade captain Wayne Smith said.
‘‘We had the ambulance come from Cobram just to check on some people, NSW Fire and Rescue were there, we had four CFA units on scene and New South Wales Police and Essential Energy came along as well.’’
Mr Smith said investigations into these type of incidents were usually resolved fairly quickly.
The blaze was one of the few fires the brigade had to contend with in recent months and occurred outside the fire danger period.
‘‘Over this side of the river, our fire season in Barooga alone has been very quiet,’’ Mr Smith said. ‘‘We did have a few escape burns, but they were outside our area.’’
