Punt Rd Kindergarten and Childcare kids pose with Kate Guppy who shaved her head to raise funds for cancer research.

Kate Guppy shaved it all off for the second time last week.

She had her head shaved in front of an audience at Punt Rd Kindergarten and Childcare to raise funds for cancer research.

Kate, who is hoping to raise $250, shaved her hair the first time because she wanted to do something to raise funds and awareness but didn’t have any money to give.

‘‘So many people are affected by cancer and the families have a difficult time as well,’’ Kate said.

‘‘I have personal experience with cancer and I know how difficult the journey is.

‘‘Hair is nothing when it comes to saving a life. I got to choose to lose my hair, people with cancer don’t get that choice.

‘‘It’s great for the kids to see what’s going on and learn about the importance of supporting the community.’’
