Young Hoppers get an early start

February 21, 2018

Mentor: Lincoln Humphries will again lead Yarroweyah’s under-17 team alongside Ben Lucas.

Yarroweyah Football and Netball Club’s under-17 sides have started pre-season training.

On the back of a testing 2017 season, coaches Lincoln Humphries and Ben Lucas will again guide the football team.

Humphries and Lucas bring a wealth of knowledge to the group and set very good training methods and discipline for the young players to grow their football and life skills.

The team will offer opportunities for new players to the club and is encouraging all previous players to return for the 2018 season.

The club offers bus pick-up from Cobram and will return players to town after training.

The club will also provide socks and shorts and cover the cost of junior footballers again this season.

Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm.

Meanwhile, the under-14 football team will soon start training on Tuesdays.

With Wes Sutton coaching the team, assisted by Brad Adams, the youngest Hoppers will be looking to build on a strong finish to last season.

Opportunities for girls wanting to try football at the under-14 level are also available. Training will begin next Tuesday, before going to twice a week from March 6.

There are also places available on the netball roster for all age groups, but particularly in the 17-and-under age groups. Training is on Thursday nights at 5pm.

The Yarroweyah Football Netball Club places a strong emphasis on being a family-friendly club and strongly encourages new players to join.
