ENTRIES in the Rotary Club of Numurkah’s 38th annual art and craft exhibition close today week.
Exhibitors are reminded to send their entry forms for art exhibits to Kate, PO Box 149 Numurkah 3636, and craft exhibits to Jennifer at the same address.
Entry forms have been posted to last year’s entrants, but are also available from The Common Thread Numurkah, Numurkah Information Centre and Numurkah Library, or are online at www.numurkahrotary.org under art and craft exhibition.
The 38th annual art and craft exhibition will be staged in the Numurkah Town Hall from Friday, March 9, to Monday, March 12.
MP Suzanna Sheed will officially open the exhibition, with awards presented on March 9 at 8.30pm.
The exhibition has been recognised as one of the best art exhibition in regional Victoria, receiving entries from Queensland, NSW, South Australia and Victoria.
Prize money of $10,000 is being offered over 14 sections, ranging from painting, craft, and photography.
This year there is a cushions craft award (any medium), which is creating much interest.
It is expected to attract entries from first-time exhibitors.
Art judge Ted Dansey will select the best in show award to the value of $1500.
Tickets are available from Rotarians, with the prize this year a painting by Rhonda Willoughby, Colours of Autumn, valued at $400.
Street sales during February will offer a further chance to buy tickets.
Since its inception in 1981, the Rotary Art and Craft Show has raised more than $247,000 for local community service projects.
