The Cobram branch of the Bendigo Bank is calling on the community to dig deep and donate to its giving tree this holiday season.
The tree is set up inside the bank to take as many gifts from people as they can manage.
Even those who are not members of the bank are able to donate whatever they can.
You can give a Christmas gift to boys and girls, or a gift voucher, food or toiletries for a person in need.
All donations will be given to local charitable organisations, which will distribute them to wherever they are needed.
Everything received will be handed out to the community by Christmas Day.
It is asked that all gifts come unwrapped, so organisers can determine who the gift is intended for.
Food items must be non-perishable and preferably with a long storage date so they can be used over Christmas and the new year period.
Bendigo Bank customer relationship officer Sue Clurey said the branch was hoping to help as many people as possible.
‘‘Absolutely everyone is welcome to donate — the more the better,’’ she said.
‘‘Our focus is to make change in the community and this is one way of doing that.
‘‘People have been so generous in the past and we hope that continues.
‘‘Many people struggle at Christmas and this is a way of making their lives a little easier.
‘‘We accept a range of items but we ask that no weapons be donated.’’
Gifts will be accepted at Cobram’s Bendigo Bank until December 12.
