Organisers are hoping to make this year’s 119th Cobram Show the most exciting yet.
Show society president Karen Creighton said there would be something on offer for everyone come October 28 and 29.
But what’s even more exciting than attending the event is competing, she said.
‘‘The show schedule offers a massive range of classes catering for everyone’s interest,’’ Ms Creighton said.
‘‘Whether that be cultivating your favourite plants to enter the flower section or preparing your fruit and vegies for the produce section.
‘‘For the foodies at heart the cooking section is for you. Whether it’s grandma’s fruit cake recipe or your famous chocolate cake, give it a go. There’s also cooking for the kids.’’
Ms Creighton said people interested in arts and crafts could enter the sewing/knitting competition.
‘‘And how could we forget the gum boot competition?’’
As for the dads, the truck show and shine is always a hit, while all the finest animal breeds will also be on show.
‘‘There is always an over abundance of dog breeds from the big to the small and everything in between,’’ Ms Creighton said.
‘‘Then there’s the goats and sheep standing patiently in their pens.
‘‘The poultry section with the chickens sitting in their cages looking stunning is a must-see.’’
Children will also be looked after with entertainment including a wild west show and carnival rides.
‘‘There’s always a large range of options for lunch from show favourites such as hot chips and fairy floss to the traditional barbecue,’’ Ms Creighton said.
And last but not least — the show bags.
‘‘They are always a favourite among the whole family so don’t forget to grab a couple,’’ Ms Creighton said.
‘‘I hope to see everyone at this year’s show.
‘‘We’re so happy with the support shown from the entire community.’’
