Strathmerton Football Netball Club had three netball teams competing in the elimination final at Yarroweyah and all three came away with a win.

A-grade played Berrigan, B-grade played Tocumwal, under-17s played Mathoura.

●A-grade won 45-37: The first half of the game was fairly even, however, strong driving in the mid-court and goal ring plus a change in defensive strategy earned us a handy lead at three-quarter-time.

Berrigan pushed us in the last quarter, gaining back a few goals but we were able to hold on for an eight-goal win.

We now take on Blighty in the semi-final on Sunday at Tocumwal.

●B-grade won 49-24: An amazing effort on the weekend, we held our ground and our heads high and came away with the win.

We played smart, we played strong, we played clean, we played our game and we played for each other and as a team. So proud of every single person today, both on and off the court. Bring on next week.

●Under-17 won 34-28: The under-17s were very excited and nervous leading up to Saturday knowing it was their first final of 2017 and all but two of the girls were still eligible for under-15s.

The nerves were still among the team in the first quarter being a little unsettled, however, they pulled it together to dominate the next three quarters getting lots of turnovers from the defence end, the mid-courters and our goalers were able to score from them.

In the end the teamwork and skill of the girls really showed and they were able to come away with a six-goal win over Mathoura.

They are ready for their next final against Picola and will come out firing.
