Trikki Kidz held a wonderful kids art show recently, with Nick Flanagan as auctioneer, as a fundraiser to assist Bec Nye in the Great Strides fun run in Bendigo, which raises awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis.

The children attending Trikki Kidz in Barooga have been worked very hard preparing for their big art show.

The children understood they were creating artworks to sell at the art show to help Mack, a much-loved child who is currently in the infant room.

Mack has two big sisters, Audrey and Sadie, who is in the pre-school room.

Mack has cystic fibrosis and while the children may not understand his condition, they understand that it can make Mack and lots of other children quite sick.

The evening started promptly at 6pm with Bec Nye (Mack’s mum) discussing the importance of research into cystic fibrosis.

Ms Nye is participating in the Great Strides fun run event in Bendigo to raise awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis.

Berrigan Shire Mayor Matt Hannan declared the evening open, with Sadie cutting the ribbon and then families began to not only view, but purchase, amazing original artistic pieces created by some of Barooga’s leading contemporary artists under the age of six.

After everyone had secured their desired pieces, an auction took place with Nick Flanagan creating a bidding fury for four collaborative art pieces created by each room.

The art show was a massive success, raising just over $2000 which will go toward vital services, programs and research that will help to extend the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis.
