Cobram Roar travelled to Wodonga on Sunday to take on bottom-placed Wodonga Heart and had no trouble bringing all three points back to Cobram with a convincing 7-1 win.
The boys started off slowly and didn’t really hit their straps early on, taking only a two-goal lead into the half-time break, thanks to a double from Bill Puckett.
Roar had plenty more opportunities but failed to capitalise on the extremely one-sided ball possession and dominance all over the field.
After half-time Cobram lifted its game and the floodgates started to open as Adam Gatcum and Aaron Feldtman both got themselves quick doubles and Shaun Willis even chipped in with the team’s seventh goal to record a massive win.
The only blemish came in the dying stages when Heart did manage to get on the score sheet, with the final result 7-1.
This Sunday Cobram travels to Albury to take on its bogie side, Albury City FC, in what will be another tough battle.

A solid performance from the whole team lead led to a convincing win for the under-16 boys.
The boys started slowly, with Jack Cassidy scoring the only goal of the first half despite Roar having most of the play and plenty of scoring opportunities.
With a 1-0 lead going into the second half the boys increased the intensity and the results showed on the scoreboard.
Jack Cassidy scored another two goals for a hat-trick and Tarkyn Hyde followed with two goals, taking Cobram’s total to five.

The under-11s came up against a very determined Boomers outfit on Saturday and were outplayed, losing 2-0.
