July 27, 2017

Happy winners: Rod Booth, Nick Dastey and Denis Glanville and in front, Annie McLeod and Jai Nolan at Tocumwal Golf Club.

On Tuesday, July 18, Vic/Tas/SA PGA state manager Nick Dastey travelled to the Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club.

Dastey presented VIP tickets and certificates to Annie McLeod, 11 years old and in Year 5 at Sacred Heart Primary School in Tocumwal, and Jai Nolan, 12 years old and in Year 6 at Barooga Primary School.

They won the prize by submitting a project about their favourite Australian golfer following the junior clinic at the 2017 Vic/Tas PGA Trainee Championship at the Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club back in May.

Annie’s project was about Karrie Webb and Jai chose Jason Day.

Their prize includes:

●Accommodation for one night near the host venue of the Victorian PGA championship with a parent/guardian.

●Admission to the tournament.

●Lesson with a PGA member.

●Experience the tournament from inside the ropes, walking with the leading players and holding the scoreboard.

●Official Victorian PGA championship logo shirt.

●Food and beverages at the venue.

●Meet and greet the winner and photos.

Both were very excited and look forward to attending the tournament next year.

It appears both Annie’s and Jai’s fathers have nominated themselves as the parent attending.

Others attending the presentation included Berrigan Shire Council Cr Denis Glanville, Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club golf director Rodney Booth and Sacred Heart Primary School principal Pat Boake.
