Eighteen keen photographers attended a recent photographic workshop in Cobram hosted by Finley and District Camera Club (FDCC) with special guest presenters.
Funding for the event was provided by a Moira Shire Arts and Culture Grant.
Club president Maureen Arthur gave a hands-on session titled How To Do Photo Book Creations for presenting photography works or memories.
During lunch, then Cobram Courier editor Jenna Bishop gave an in-depth presentation on what is required for media releases and how to create a photo and story for a local newspaper, plus special requirements such as seeking permission from the relevant people — particularly when children are involved — before photos are printed.
The afternoon workshops included DSLR camera photography with Cobram Photographics manager Rhonda Doyle, who thrilled the class with composition tips and what camera settings to use for that special result.
Val Lee spoke on how to take video with a DSLR camera, and said photographers should never go over a half-hour of video recording before allowing the camera to cool down, thus preventing heat damage to the camera, and also to always have the batteries fully charged before starting to video.
