Deni Rovers take huge win

Picola league

In the Picola north-west division, Deni Rovers’ A-grade side had a massive 78-20 win over Mathoura to secure second spot on the ladder, while Picola nudged Jerilderie 43-42 in a tight contest.

In B-grade action, Mathoura came a lot closer to Deni Rovers, losing by just two goals, 36-38.

Strathmerton triumphed over Yarroweyah 59-38, while Blighty quadrupled Berrigan’s goal tally to win 44-11, and Jerilderie lost to Picola 43-54.

In C-grade, Yarroweyah turned the tables on Strathmerton with a clear-cut 41-28 victory, while Jerilderie defeated Picola 54-43, Mathoura went down to Deni Rovers 29-40 and Berrigan topped Blighty 40-31.

Murray league

It was a great effort from the B-grade Hoppers, who fought hard with the wet weather against them, with the final score 59-38 going Strathy’s way.

Defence worked hard to turn it around for the attack end, and there was a great effort exerted all round — but unfortunately Strathy came out on top.

●C-grade had a fantastic game, taking a 41-28 win over Strathmerton. The team stepped up and worked as one unit.

There was great pressure and rewards followed from the turnovers.

●The C-reserve girls worked extremely hard against Strathy, which was out for revenge on the game the Hoppers won earlier in the year.

In the end the Hoppers went down 35-31, with the scoreline seesawing during the course of the game.

It was a great effort from everyone in the team, with plenty pf pressure across the whole court.
