After 32 years operating as an independent agency within the First National co-operative group, Neil Kerr First National Real Estate is ready to embrace a new future with a name change, new look and a more nimble business model.
Now trading as Kerr Real Estate, Cobram and Tocumwal’s largest and longest operating real estate agency sees a departure from the First National Group as an acknowledgement of the company’s strength and diversity.
This latest incarnation is about looking ahead to the next 30 years and maintaining its role as an innovator in the industry and community it serves.
Director Andrew Kerr said the new name and look was a reflection of considered succession planning and a natural step in the company’s life-cycle as he officially takes the reins from his father, Neil Kerr.
‘‘We thought it was time to hit the ‘refresh’ button, after three decades under the banner and marketing directives of First National,’’ Neil said.
‘‘This decision brings with it a new clarity and opportunity to refocus, refresh and push ourselves to even higher standards of professional service and ethics.
‘‘This new approach allows for greater flexibility, autonomy and opportunity to embody change and growth.
‘‘The name change and re-brand are part of a strategic change, which will unlock a whole new future for us, our clients and the broader community.’’
Neil remains upbeat about the position of the family firm.
‘‘Over the years I have got to know a lot of people — it’s been fantastic really,’’ he said.
‘‘I thank the local people for their support, it’s been really, really good.’’
Andrew said he was looking forward to welcoming new team members in the coming months.
‘‘However, what will remain unchanged in this dynamic environment are the values that we have upheld over past 35 years.
‘‘These will continue to underpin our everyday existence.
‘‘Mostly I am looking forward to building a great business, a great family life and helping within the community of Cobram.’’
