Murray league

Cobram secured an emphatic win against Rumbalara in the Murray Netball League on the weekend.

Playing at home, the Tigers capitalised on their strong game to take the win 51-20.

The three other senior sides also took home wins, in B-grade 41-22, in C-grade 56-22 and C-reserve 40-37.

In a tussle against second-placed Echuca United in the A-grade match, Barooga came close in a fiercely contested game, losing 37-31.

Taking on the top-sided Echuca United in the remaining senior games, the Hawks fell short, going down 58-32 in B-grade, 55-22 in C-grade and 46-24 in C-reserve.

Picola league

In the Picola District Netball League north-west division, Tocumwal consolidated its unbeaten, ladder-leading position with a strong win over third-placed Strathmerton.

A few turnovers and errors in goals sealed the win for the Bloods, 57-48, with wins in a hard-fought tussle in B-grade (45-39) and another strong victory in C-grade (29-45). The Bulldogs took home the chocolates in the C-reserve match, winning 27-17 over Tocumwal.

In the south-east competition, Shepp East proved too strong for Katamatite, the Tigers going down in the A-grade clash 52-21, 43-20 in B-grade, 45-31 in C-grade and 22-5 in C-reserve.
